We spoke with Sasha, Creator and Senior Hair Stylist of June & Flora Boutique Hair Gallery to ask her a few questions about herself and her business.
Q What does prosperity mean to you?
With seven years of being an entrepreneur, I have learned for myself that prosperity is time. The goal of business owning is to set yourself up to make the right financial decisions that lead to what your dream life looks like! For me, it is time with my family and traveling the world.
With the right tools and the right people backing you up (my amazing team at TAAG), business owning allows me to live a prosperous life full of adventures and fun!
Hard work is no doubt behind the fruit of being able to live a life that is right for me, but luckily, my career is my passion and it never feels like work!
Q What is sustainable beauty?
Sustainable beauty is the art of being able to align the products we use—the lifestyle we choose in our industry—with the environment.
At June & Flora, we have built a sustainable boutique with reclaimed materials. We use products that represent clean beauty and are all B-Corp certified. We use eco-friendly practices. We partner with Green Circle Salons and recycle all of our beauty waste. In other words, we make sure to make the least possible negative impact on our Mother Earth. Our industry produces so much carbon footprint and we are doing everything we can to make ours as little as possible!
We love being a part of the sustainable beauty movement!
Q What is your favorite way to celebrate as an entrepreneur?
For me, celebrating as an entrepreneur comes in many different forms. I love being able to step out of my comfort zone and take things to another level when the time is right. I find that being able to grow is a privilege, and I celebrate that!
I am also learning to coast when things are stable and to enjoy the moment. As business owners, we always tend to be looking for the next shiny thing to do. But being able to enjoy the benefits of your hard work is also a part of being a successful business owner. I love to travel, so I celebrate my time this way. I also love to bond with my co-workers and celebrate together and I aspire to take more time to give back to our community which has been an important part of my career in hair for the last 18 years!
