TAAG Law’s founder, Andrej has held senior advisory, governance, and executive roles in the private, government, non-profit, and education sectors. Leveraging his mutli-disciplinary experience, he applies extreme practicality and candour to clients’ pain points and objectives, staying outcome oriented and relentlessly pushing projects forward. An entrepreneur first and lawyer second, Andrej developed the Entrepreneur LawTM model which prioritizes the client relationship over siloed and transactional legal services. He began his legal career with one of the top 5 global law firms and specializes in business formation and restructuring to maximize control, and mitigate tax and operational liabilities. He earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Ottawa and holds graduate degrees in economic policy and political science.

Ilya honed his legal skills in international law and commercial litigation at a boutique Canadian law firm. Trained by one of Canada’s top litigators and a former Crown Prosecutor and Senior General Counsel at the Department of Justice, Ilya specializes in providing strategic legal advice on complex legal matters to mitigate risk and prevent litigation.

Atanas is a lawyer at TAAG Law, practicing in wills and estates, employment, and corporate law. With over a decade of experience managing a family-owned business in Ottawa, he understands the challenges entrepreneurs face, and helps clients mitigate risk while growing their businesses.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, and his Master’s in International Affairs from Carleton University, specializing in international law and economic policy. His background allows him to advise clients on regulatory compliance, cross-border transactions, and the business impacts of international trade.

Atanas also has extensive experience in defence procurement, gained while working on the Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy at Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED). He is fluent in Bulgarian and also has general proficiency in French and German.

Andres Iglesias is our current Law Clerk, who brings a diverse legal background to our team, and is currently working toward his Ontario license. He has been a member in good standing of the Colombian Bar since 2012 and is completing the required steps to obtain his Ontario license. His experience spans across several key areas, including financial regulation, procurement, contracts, employment law, administrative law, infrastructure law, compliance, and international law.

Andres has worked with clients across various sectors, including financial corporations, Crown corporations, EdTech start-ups, and non-profit organizations, both in Colombia and Canada.

Outside of his legal career, Andres is the father of one young boy and enjoys reading, playing chess, and cooking for his family. He is also proficient in Spanish and has provided advice to companies with matters in Colombia.

Following the completion of the Paralegal program at O'Sullivan College in 2016, Georgi graduated from the Civil Law program (LL.L.) at University of Ottawa in 2019 with a Cum laude distinction. Georgi Germanov also had the opportunity to study law in the most prestigious law faculty in Europe at the University Panthéon-Assas (Sorbonne) in Paris, France. Georgi Germanov was called to the Québec bar in 2022. Since his admission to the Bar, Georgi Germanov has practiced in litigation sector, notably in general civil, construction and labour law. Having had the chance to work and learn alongside and from some of the best litigators in Québec, Georgi Germanov opened his own law practice in 2024, offering litigation and consultation services in civil, construction and corporative law.
