Meet Hugh Colbert and his team! We recently spoke to them about their business, Cold Bear Brewing Company, located in Arnprior.
Your vision supports community and bringing people together. Have you been well received by Arnprior and the local surrounding communities?
The community of Arnprior has been a huge part of our success so far. From day one Arnprior has been supporting our vision of creating a fun and unique space for people to gather and socialize. They have been supporting our many events and initiatives and it has been great to see.
Your family and friends have all been a huge part of this business venture. How has working with family been beneficial to your business?
I think that working with family and friends gives our business more meaning. Working with the people close to us means that they are also very supportive and involved in every decision we make. It's important that our business is run by people with a common goal in mind, and having family involved makes that a lot easier.
What are your expectations for the business moving forward?
We expect to keep creating unique beer brewed from local ingredients and supporting the local community while doing it. Our vision is very community based, with an emphasis on supporting other local businesses, the people who call our community home, as well as our community of employees. I hope to keep doing this for a long time and our focus will be on continuing to support our community while trying to remain as sustainable as possible.
Did you ever imagine you could do something that you are truly passionate about and be so successful? What key elements contributed to that success?
Being able to turn my passion into my business has been extremely rewarding and something I had always dreamed of. Making that dream a reality has taken, and continues to take, a lot of hard work. I think the support of family and friends has been crucial to get where we are today, and Cold Bear couldn't have existed without their support.
How does TAAG Accounting allow you to focus more on your business?

Do you have any advice for new business entrepreneurs?
Make sure to have the support from your family and friends. Starting a business takes a lot of effort and support, not just from the person running the business, but from everyone else who is involved in their life.
